Nigeria’s police command in Rivers state today
confirmed the death of Madam Charity Obah, the foster mother to Mrs. Patience
Jonathan, the wife of the President, in an auto crash along East-West road in
the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP
Angela Agabe told journalists that Charity Obah was travelling with three other
persons in a Toyota Corolla car with registration number ABU 153 AE.
She said the incident occurred Monday evening
along Isiokpo/Elele road on her way to Bayelsa State.
The PPRO also explained that a 14 year old girl
name, Favour, a student of Seventh Day Adventist Church Secondary School, Elele,
also died in the accident.
On cause of the accident, she said the front
tyre of the vehicle pulled out while the driver was negotiating a sharp bend and
made the car to somersault several times.
The driver Stanley Enyinnaya and the forth
occupant were receiving treatment at an Undisclosed hospital.
The Rivers command police image maker DSP Angela Agabe however said
the body of Madam Charity Obah, the foster mother of the first lady has been
deposited in a morgue in Port Harcourt.
