Ibrahimovic considered PSG exit

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has admitted he talked to other clubs over the summer, but a heart-to-heart with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi convinced him to stay with the Ligue 1 champions.
Ibrahimovic, 31, top scored in Ligue 1 last season as Carlo Ancelotti steered PSG to the French title for the first time since 1994. However, having spent the majority of his career in Serie A, intense speculation linked the Sweden international with a return to Italy during the summer transfer window.
PSG, however, announced on Tuesday the striker had signed a one-season extension to the three-year deal he penned upon his arrival at the Parc des Princes from AC Milan just over a year ago. Ibrahimovic put his decision down to a discussion he held with Al Khelaifi.
“It’s true that my agent and I spoke to several clubs but, after meeting the PSG president, I decided to stay here. We reached an agreement,” Ibrahimovic, who reportedly saw his salary rise from an annual €13.8m to €15m as a consequence of his new deal, told the media following his team’s 1-0 win at Valenciennes on Wednesday.”
